Meet the China networking projects for AsiaBerlin Summit 2021

As a part of the AsiaBerlin Summit, we will be dedicating a whole day to China-focused panels, workshops, and keynotes on 7 October 2021.

The number of unicorns in China is on a constant rise. In 2017, China had around 27% of the world’s total unicorns. This percentage increased to 42% in 2019, with 206 companies. In 2020, it was reported that China and the US together account for 79% of the world’s unicorns. This year, during the AsiaBerlin Summit, let’s get together on 7 October 2021 with our China network partners and discuss the Chinese startup ecosystem, its go-to-market strategies, and investment opportunities. Here is a look at our network partners that will support us for various panels and talks for China-related topics.

ExplorAsia

INAM’s ExplorAsia Project is for Startups & SMEs working in the Advanced Materials space to explore internationalization opportunities. ExplorAsia aims to help SMEs, especially startups, tap into new markets and ignite new collaborations, focusing on China, Singapore, and Japan. INAM will be holding networking events and a series of workshops on how to do business in these parts of the world.

INAM will be working together with the other participating organizations to prepare relevant content for the summit participants, focusing on China. What can one expect when doing business in China, in terms of business culture, investment opportunities, IP issues, etc.? These are some of the topics they will explore. The goal is to help clarify some of the more challenging aspects of expanding a European business to China and break barriers to entry.

Innovations for a Global Market – Cooperation Network Berlin & China (CN-BC)

Through a series of events and meetups, both real and virtual, the project offers entry points into the German and Chinese markets with legal, trade, and intercultural support for businesses, industry experts, and local organizations.

For the summit, their focus is  “Trends and Challenges in Design innovations”, two short presentations, and a panel talk- with participants from the CN-BC network.

Urban Tech Network

During the Asia Berlin Summit, Urban Impact will present its new and upcoming activities for connecting Berlin’s urban tech startup ecosystem to the world. With China being a main focus and innovator when it comes to sustainable urban development, there will be lots of opportunities to connect the right startups with investors and interested city stakeholders. Urban technologies are entrepreneurial ventures that help cities to become “smart” from the bottom up, focusing on specific use cases and niches across the spectrum of mobility & logistics, energy, waste, water, urban farming, IoT, gov and civic tech, resilience, circular economy and more.

In cooperation with the city of Berlin, Urban Impact mapped more than 100+ startups currently active in urban tech and focusing on impactful solutions for sustainable cities – the main goal also pursued by the European Union to enable more than 100 climate-neutral cities in Europe by 2030.
